About Water Safety With Miss Dayna
Water is the backdrop for some of our happiest memories.
Bathtime bonding with our babies. Summer afternoons full of pool time and popsicles. Family trips to the shore.
But without the right safety strategies, water can also be a very dangerous place for our children.
If you know how important water safety is but need help figuring out what to DO about it, you’re in the right place.
Water Safety With Miss Dayna empowers families with a complete, proactive plan to keep kids safe around water and end childhood drowning.
The Watch-Wait-Swim Water Safety Method teaches every member of their family effective, realistic strategies and provides fun, engaging tools to make water safety a part of everyday life.

If we want to keep kids from drowning, swim lessons are important, but they aren’t enough.
No one wants to think about drowning. But the tragic reality is that drowning remains the #1 cause of accidental death in children under 5 in the U.S.
I’ve spent my whole life around water, swimming competitively since age five and teaching since my teens. Early in my 35 years as a certified swimming instructor, I realized the power of the word "wait" when keeping even my littlest swimmers safe near the pool.
When I earned my AutismSwim certification and began teaching more neurodivergent students, I found the word "wait" itself wasn't always enough. Impulse control was challenging for many students, and they were drawn to the soothing, shimmery water. I began using blue swim kickboards as an additional cue, offering students a designated spot to remain until invited into the water. Soon, I realized that this strategy benefitted all of my students.
Around the same time, I took a five-week road trip from Virginia to New Mexico to visit over 450 childcare facilities and learn what they shared with families about water safety. I was shocked to find that NONE of the schools offered water safety resources or information.
I made it my mission to create the Waiting Whales Water Safety Kit and to get water safety resources into the hands of families across the United States.
Join me and the Waiting Whales as we make water safety a part of every day.
Your child is counting on you!
