Teaching families simple, lifesaving water safety strategies
You've seen the statistics. You know the dangers.
But has anyone given you a PLAN when it comes to water safety?
With rates of childhood drowning continuing to climb, it’s clear that something’s missing from our approach to water safety in America. Much of the advice out there is incomplete, oversimplified, and missing the most crucial part: the HOW.
Miss Dayna's water safety education and tools offer everything you need to make water safety as second nature as buckling their car seat.
It’s time to turn the tide on childhood drowning in America
This is how we’re going to do it:
The Watching Initiative
Join the Watching Initiative by committing to our eight active safety strategies, including CPR certification, touch watching, and installing proper barriers.
The Water Safety Kit
Teach your child never to enter the water alone with the Waiting Whales Water Safety Kit featuring simple, portable tools and fun characters kids love.
Online Parent Courses
Our online courses will teach parents how to keep children safe around water. We even have a course coming for children with autism.
COURSES COMING IN 2026!
“The ‘wait’ strategy has been a game-changer this summer. All of our kids have a waiting spot at the pool now.”
At Water Safety With Miss Dayna, we’re dedicated to helping children with autism enjoy water safely.
Through simple routines, visual tools, and a compassionate approach, we help children understand when it’s safe to enter the water—giving parents and caregivers the confidence they deserve.
I’m Dayna Harvey
Water Safety Expert and Certified Swim Instructor
I've lived my entire life around water and have been teaching kids to swim for over 35 years. In 2022, I visited over 450 childcare centers from Virginia to New Mexico and was shocked to learn that none offered any water safety information to families.
I realized I had to get my simple, proactive approach to water safety into more communities.
Since then, I have traveled to an additional 2,000 schools nationwide to spread the word. With fun, friendly characters, confidence-building routines, and lifesaving strategies, the Watch-Wait-Swim method engages the whole family and fits into your existing routines.
